CAR RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Avacar.bg serves as the commercial identity of Avacar 2000 , officially registered in Bulgaria. These provisions, along with our Privacy Policy and the Cookies statement, form a binding agreement between you and us regarding our car rental services. To clarify, “you” refers to the individual renting the vehicle, the individual responsible for payment, and/or any person making the reservation. While “you” may encompass multiple individuals, our agreements will involve all parties, yet all communication about confirmed bookings will be directed to the primary driver. Collectively, these terms are identified as “our terms.” They apply to every contract related to our services, with any conflicting terms excluded. Nothing from Avacar.bg shall be interpreted as an acceptance of alternate conditions. By availing of our services or signing an agreement, you affirm your acceptance of these terms. We retain the authority to modify these terms at any time, therefore we suggest you periodically review our website for pertinent updates. The rental of any vehicle is governed by the terms and conditions outlined by the respective car rental company, as well as applicable laws in the country or state where the vehicle is rented. Specific restrictions may apply to your rental vehicle.
The vehicle is made available to you either directly from us or through a designated agent. Our authorization, which shapes our actions, is contingent on our relationship with the car rental provider.
These terms apply to all reservations made via our site, thus reviewing the information displayed is essential. The conditions set forth by the car rental companies we partner with include certain exclusions and limitations of liability.
When you book through this website, you are agreeing to our terms. If you find any aspect of these terms unacceptable, you should refrain from completing your reservation. By indicating your desire to book a vehicle via this platform, you confirm that you have read, comprehended, and agreed to these terms. Booking Confirmation and Payment Acceptance
Generally, you will receive immediate confirmation of your booking through an email sent to the address you provided. Occasionally, we may need to await confirmation from the car rental provider to ensure availability. In such cases, we will promptly inform you and temporarily hold the funds on your payment card. Once the car becomes available, we will notify you and finalize the payment by charging your card.
You can cancel your payment anytime before the booking is confirmed. Simply click “My Booking” at the top of our site, enter your booking email and reference, then select “Cancel Booking.” We will release the funds on your card.
Instances where a car rental company cannot confirm the vehicle’s availability are rare. Should this situation arise, we will notify you and unblock the funds on your card.
When you book a vehicle or any other offering through our site, you will receive an email confirming the vehicle’s availability within 48 hours (or at least 24 hours before your scheduled pick-up). Following this, we will provide you with a booking confirmation.
The contract will be sent only after confirming the reservation and receiving payment. All correspondence will be sent to the email address you provided during the booking process. For clarity, these terms do not grant any third parties rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
Accuracy of Information
While we aim to maintain accuracy on our website, neither we, nor our affiliates, nor our suppliers or agents are liable for the precise accuracy of the content provided. It is your responsibility to assess the accuracy, completeness, and usefulness of all information showcased on this site.
The voucher (e-voucher) issued by Avacar.bg must be presented to the car rental company when you collect the rented vehicle. We cannot accept any responsibility for any cancellations if you fail to present a voucher/e-voucher.
We are not accountable for expenses related to signing or accepting documents at the car rental location.
We are not responsible for the actions of any individual operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, which may result in intentional harm, driving on rough terrain, or operating the vehicle without appropriate caution. You, solely, bear responsibility for incidents stemming from such actions. This list is not exhaustive.
What’s included/excluded in your price?
We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the car rental conditions that will be outlined during your booking process.
Fuel and Deposits at the Rental Counter
Most car rental companies require a deposit at the commencement of the rental to cover potential liabilities, including any damages incurred during your rental period and sometimes fuel costs. Typically, a valid credit card with a sufficient balance is needed for this deposit. The card should be in the name of the primary driver. Please be aware that acceptance of certain credit cards can vary between car rental companies, so we recommend reviewing the Important Information section and/or your rental agreement during the booking process. Should you have inquiries, please contact us. If the car and any additional products are returned in the condition initially received, adhering to the refueling guidelines, the deposit will be refunded after the vehicle is returned (note that it may take up to 30 days to process a refund back to your credit card).
Some rental companies mandate that the fuel level upon returning the car matches the level when it was received. Other firms may require you to purchase a full fuel tank when you pick up the vehicle and return it empty, in which case you may not receive a refund for the fuel you did not use.
If the rental company assesses a fuel charge, the fee may exceed the current local gas station prices.
Services Outside of Office Hours
Numerous airports may offer vehicle pickup services outside of regular business hours. However, additional charges may apply for these services and should be settled directly with the rental company. We will inform you of any potential extra costs when confirming your pickup time during the booking process. If, due to a flight delay, you can only collect the vehicle after the car rental company has closed, they may still provide services beyond normal business hours, at which point you will be made aware of any additional fees. We cannot guarantee the availability of services outside normal office hours, and we advise purchasing insurance for individual travelers. Companies operating rental counters outside of airports may also offer services after hours.
Minimum/Maximum Age Restrictions
Typically, the minimum age for renting is 21 years. Certain car rental providers or countries may impose extra fees for drivers under 25 or over 65. If you entered your age correctly during your booking request, we will inform you of any applicable fees. Larger vehicles may have stricter age restrictions in some regions. Additional Drivers
Extra charges may apply for additional drivers unless specified otherwise in the voucher/e-voucher provided by Avacar.bg. You can acquire this information from our Contact Center.
Daily Rate Calculation/Rental Duration/Extensions/Late Returns
The rental rate for your vehicle is confirmed upon booking and is based on a 24-hour period. If you wish to extend your rental after receiving the vehicle or if you return it beyond the specified time on your voucher/e-voucher, that extension contract will be made directly with the rental provider, and you will be charged their local daily rate, which may be higher than what you originally paid. The car rental company may also impose extra charges for late returns. Further payment information will be included in your contract with them.
Late Vehicle Pickup/Early Vehicle Return
The rental period begins and concludes based on the pick-up and drop-off times indicated on your voucher/e-voucher. Unfortunately, we do not provide refunds for any unused rental days due to late pickups or early returns. If you cannot pick up the vehicle at the agreed time, please notify us immediately. Failing to do so may result in unavailability of the vehicle, losing your right to receive a refund.
One-Way Car Rental
One-way rentals may be prearranged and could incur fees imposed by the rental provider. We will provide an estimated cost once we receive your booking request and confirm the one-way rental with the car company.
Child Seats and Special Requests
Most locations can provide child seats, roof racks (*availability may vary*), and other additional items upon request, though we cannot guarantee their availability. Generally, the car rental company will charge a fee for these services. It’s important to note that in many locations, the law requires the use of child seats. Be aware that not all vehicles have rear seatbelts. For more specific information, consult our Contact Center. Such services should be requested during the booking process.
Delivery and Return
Certain car rental companies may offer delivery/collection services to specified locations. Additional fees may apply directly to this service and will be communicated to you after confirming your pick-up/drop-off addresses and timings in your booking request. Do note that most car rental providers typically do not deliver or collect vehicles from private residences.
Driving Zones
There may be restrictions regarding driving your rental car into other countries/states/islands. Thus, if you plan to travel beyond the border into other nations, it’s essential to inform our Contact Center. Journeying to different countries might necessitate additional documentation and local fees. Restrictions could also apply in remote areas; please verify with our Contact Center.
Cancellation, No-Show, and Modifications
Generally, the following cancellation policies will apply to your booking, though you should review the car rental company’s terms and conditions for stricter stipulations.
1. To cancel an online order made via our website, please send an email to our support team at info@avacar.bg confirming your car reservation (you will receive a confirmation upon payment), with “Cancellation” in the email subject line.
2. Refunds will be processed back to the same account/method used for the initial car rental payment.
3. Refunds for advance payments (deposit, partial online prepayment) for rentals will be processed within 14 business days from the date you apply for a refund.
4. Canceling a car rental reservation will not incur any commission charges (provided you adhere to the cancellation policy outlined in the Terms and Conditions, aside from a bank fee of approximately 6% of your total payment).
Cancellation of a Fully Paid Reservation
- If you cancel your booking at least 72 hours before the scheduled rental start time, you will be fully refunded.
- Cancellations made within 72 hours of pick-up time will result in a refund, less the cost of three days of rental.
- If your booking was for fewer than three days, no extra charges will be incurred; however, no refund will be issued.
- If you fail to appear on the agreed date and time or if you do not meet the requirements for providing necessary documents and a credit card in the main driver’s name with enough funds for the car deposit, the rental company may deny rental service. In such cases:
- If you reach out to us from the rental counter, you will receive a refund minus the cost of three days of rental.
- If you do not contact us at the rental location, no refund will be provided.
Cancellation of Booking with Deposit (Partial Online Prepayment)
- If you cancel your reservation at least 72 hours before the rental start time, you will receive a refund minus the deposit amount.
- Cancellations made less than 72 hours but before rental start time will be refunded minus the deposit and the greater of the deposit or three days of rental.
- If your reservation is for fewer than three days, no added charges will apply, although no refund will be issued.
No Show
- If you wish to cancel your booking but do not notify us before your rental begins;
- If you fail to pick up the vehicle at the scheduled date and time;
- If you do not provide the required documentation to acquire the vehicle;
- If you are unable to present a credit card in the name of the main driver with sufficient funds for the deposit.
In all cases of no-show, you will not be entitled to a refund of your payment.
The car rental provider reserves the right to deny vehicle issuance to any customer who does not arrive on time with all the necessary documents and a credit card in the name of the main driver that has sufficient funds for the deposit. In these scenarios, if the rental was not canceled beforehand, the client will not receive a refund.
Changes (Amendments to Booking)
You can alter your reservation at any time before the time scheduled for pick-up.
If your pick-up time is not earlier than 48 hours, you can make amendments in the “My Booking” section at the top right.
For changes needed sooner than 48 hours, please reach out to us.
There are no administrative fees for modifying your booking; however, changes might affect the rental cost. In some cases (though rarely), the only way to amend a booking will be to cancel and re-book, in which event we may apply a cancellation fee on behalf of the rental provider.
Changes to Your Booking Made through Us
Occasionally, once a booking is accepted, only we or the car rental company can modify it. In such cases, we will contact you as soon as possible before the vehicle’s scheduled pick-up time if the changes proposed are not acceptable, resulting in a full refund of your payment. However, we do not take on any additional responsibility for direct or indirect losses stemming from such modifications.
Documentation Requirements
The voucher/e-voucher will become available upon the completion of full payment and vehicle confirmation from the car rental provider. Please be aware that for certain vehicles, the confirmation might take longer; we will notify you in those situations. If you cannot collect the vehicle due to insufficient documentation or a valid credit card, it will be deemed a no-show, disqualifying you from receiving a refund. You must carry your voucher/e-voucher, a valid national driving license, and any other necessary documents. For details on other required documentation, see the “What To Bring with You” section of your voucher/e-voucher.
Driver’s License Requirements
Each driver must possess a full, valid driver’s license issued for a minimum of 1 year (in some regions, this period may extend to 5 years as specified during the booking). Temporary or expired certificates are not acceptable.
During your car booking, you are responsible for informing our Contact Center of any special marks or penalty points present on your driving license. We reserve the right to decline reservations based on this information following the policies established by the rental companies with which we partner.
The driver must present their driver’s license upon vehicle collection. The license should remain with them during the entire rental period for potential inspections by local authorities.
In the event that the rental provider denies vehicle issuance due to undisclosed marks on the driver’s license or a failure to provide the license, equivalent information, or required details about special marks, you will not be refunded.
Please note, you may require an international driver’s license when traveling abroad. It is your responsibility to verify if this permit is mandated. The International Driving Permit does not replace your standard driver’s license: an individual must retain both documents while renting a vehicle and ensure compliance with regulations of the main driver’s home country. Should an international license be necessary, you cannot receive the vehicle without that document alongside your standard driver’s license.
All drivers are expected to review the rental provider’s terms and conditions prior to car collection, as some regions and companies may enforce additional requirements.
Important Information Regarding Currency Conversion
Due to exchange rate variations, the amount charged to your credit card might differ from the price shown at payment time. This variance is subject to the fluctuations in exchange rates between booking and when the charge is shown on your credit card statement. Likewise, with refunds, we will credit the exact sum that was originally charged, and any fluctuations in currency rates, up or down, are beyond our control.
Vehicle Capacity and Classification
All vehicles come with a specified maximum capacity. We cannot take responsibility if the car does not accommodate all passengers and luggage. Approximate vehicle capacity details for various classes can be found on the avacar.bg website. If the rental firm denies you a vehicle due to excess passengers, we are not liable.
We do not guarantee the availability of a specific brand or model. The vehicle mentioned on your voucher/e-voucher is for informational purposes; the rental company may provide a different vehicle of the same or superior class.
Provision of Vehicles
Car rental services retain the right to deny renting a vehicle to anyone deemed unfit to drive or does not meet the specified criteria. We do not bear the responsibility for fulfilling all aspects of the rental, reimbursements, compensations, or any costs incurred in such events.
Avacar Rent A Car’s security service holds the discretion to refuse rental services without disclosing reasons. In such an occurrence, your advance payment will be returned in full, less any relevant bank commission.
Filing and Processing Complaints
Should you feel dissatisfied with the rental experience, please alert us as soon as possible, but no later than 3 months after the vehicle has been returned via our customer service unit. If issues regarding the rental were not addressed at the time of return, handling them later may prove challenging. While you will have a contractual relationship with the rental company when you rent a vehicle, in case of issues, we’ll step in to assist by communicating with the rental provider on your behalf.
Mechanical Issues/Defects
If you experience any malfunction or mechanical defect, it is your responsibility to reach out to the rental provider immediately. They will need to authorize repairs or a vehicle replacement. In the case of an accident, contact local law enforcement and the rental service. Retain copies of all documents you fill out, as these may be necessary when submitting a complaint.
Your rental is subject to the vehicle’s rental terms and conditions set forth by the rental company, as well as applicable laws in the respective country or state. Therefore, the rental firm’s terms apply to you. We cannot be held responsible for losses, damages, or adjustments resulting from civil unrest, strikes (including strikes by airline employees), acts of terrorism, natural disasters, nuclear events, fire, severe weather conditions, unavoidable transportation issues, airport and ferry port closures, high passenger traffic, flight cancellations, or airline financial difficulties.
Rental Terms with Avacar.bg
Regardless of how you book, understanding the timeline and process for finalizing the agreement is crucial. The following technical measures must be completed to establish a contract. When we provide pricing over the phone or post service information on our site, we merely invite you to submit an offer to purchase those services. You will place such an offer when you notify us verbally of your reservation or by selecting the “Book” button on the “Payment” page.
You submit an offer for services upon verbal notification or by clicking the “Book” button. We will accept your offer after receiving the necessary payment and issuing your voucher/e-voucher. In instances where we are acting as agents based on our collaboration with a rental company, we will accept your offer on their behalf.
We are responsible for losses you directly incur from our breach of this agreement if those losses are foreseeable consequences of our noncompliance with the contract terms. Predictable losses occur when you and we could have reasonably foreseen them at the time of entering the agreement. We will not be liable for indirect damages arising from major damages or losses that couldn’t have been foreseen by you and us. We are not liable (without limitation) for any loss of profit, opportunity, goodwill, or consequential losses.
We accept no liability, either directly or through rental agencies, for failure to fulfill or delays in our booking obligations, voucher/e-voucher issuance, rental terms, if such fulfillment is hindered or obstructed by force majeure. Force majeure refers to events beyond the control of the concerned party. If force majeure exceeds 14 consecutive days, we may cancel the booking with a 14-day notice sent to your initially designated address, issuing a refund of all funds paid prior to the force majeure event.
In unique cases, such as when the car rental firm is insolvent, we may cancel the booking with prompt notice under specific conditions. Regardless, we will do our utmost to arrange an alternative vehicle, although this may not be feasible during periods of high demand. If payment was completed in full and notice is communicated no less than 48 hours before pickup time, the customer will receive all refunded funds. In rare circumstances where we send a cancellation notice within 48 hours of the pick-up time, we commit to refunding the full amount paid and addressing other anticipatable losses incurred by the customer due to our contractual breach. If a deposit was made during booking and we notify no later than 7 days before vehicle pick-up, the client will receive the entire amount paid back. In cases where we notify customers who have put down a deposit 7 days prior to collection, we will provide a full refund and compensate for foreseeable losses resulting from our breach of the agreement terms.
Booking, Purchasing, or Requesting Products or Services
If you intend to reserve, purchase, or request products or services listed on our site, we (or our business associates) may request specific details relating to your booking or purchase, including but not limited to credit card information and other relevant data for identifying you. You acknowledge that we will handle such data according to the processes outlined in our privacy policy. By providing this information, you affirm that it is accurate, current, and complete. You also agree to cover all fees charged to you or other users of your account, credit card, or any other payment method at the applicable rates or prices when charged. You are also responsible for any applicable taxes concerning your purchase.
Verification of submitted information may be necessary before confirming a reservation, purchase, or order. Unless legally mandated or explicitly stated otherwise by us, pricing, rates, and product or service availability are subject to change without notice. You acknowledge that reservations, purchases, and services are also governed by additional terms and conditions set either by us or the rental provider offering the vehicle.
Website Usage Terms
You may not utilize any automated tools or programs to connect, or attempt to connect, with this website to retrieve data and/or other information, including pricing details. Interference or attempts to disrupt the seamless operation of this site are also prohibited. Any activity causing an unacceptable load on our systems, in our opinion, will be terminated. We routinely monitor website activity, and actions by automated systems or individuals performing unreasonable search inquiries will lead to termination, with access to our site being restricted.

For all permissible instances, these terms and conditions will be governed by Bulgarian law, in adherence to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Bulgarian courts.

Additional Conditions When Renting Directly from Avacar Rent A Car
PRICE INCLUDES
- Unlimited mileage for rentals exceeding 15 days (rentals up to 15 days include 150 km/day, surcharge of €0.06/km applies thereafter)
- Civil liability insurance
- Toll – vignette coverage for the Republic of Bulgaria
- Replacement vehicle in case of technical issues
Requirements for Renting a Car
The individual renting the vehicle must provide an identity document (passport or ID card), a valid driving license (and a control card for Bulgarian citizens) until the end of the rental period, along with a valid credit/debit card.
The renter must present a driving license that has been valid for a minimum of 4 years, accompanied by a control coupon, ID, or passport, with the minimum age being 25.
Individuals aged under 25 or with less than 3 years of driving experience will incur a Young Driver fee of €6 per day, along with a doubled deposit (some car classes may have further restrictions). Confirmation from the rental company is necessary in every instance.
Discounts
To utilize any available discounts, the client must have completed at least one paid reservation.
Rental Period
A minimum rental duration of 24 hours applies. Late returns beyond the rental agreement duration, without prior notification, will incur forfeits: up to 4 hours incurs one day’s rental charge; 4-8 hours incurs two days’ rental; returns over 8 hours will incur three days’ rental fees.
Payment Methods and Deposits
During booking, you can opt for a partial prepayment (15% of the final price) or a full prepayment via credit/debit card, bank transfer, or PayPal. Payments via card will be made under the name “Avacar 2000 ” – our company’s designation. If part of the total amount is prepaid, the client must pay the remaining balance upon vehicle rental. Accepted payment modes include Visa, MasterCard, bank transfer, or cash. Renting requires a guarantee amount to be made via card (Visa or MasterCard) in the customer’s name or in cash. For cash payments, the deposit amount is increased by 100%. The company reserves the right to deny cash deposits.
Deposit Payment Procedure and Refund Using a Credit Card
On the day of vehicle registration, the client must leave a deposit using a credit or debit card issued in their name. The deposit will be authorized (blocked). Upon vehicle return and inspection, it will be unblocked (cancellation of authorization).
Insurance
– Additional AI Insurance
This can be purchased at an additional cost at the client’s request and covers:
• Reimbursement of the deposit for damages to tires, wheels, windows, and chassis.
– Superinsurance CDW + TP
Available at an additional cost upon client request; it includes:
• Recovery of the deposit in case of damage (excludes tire, wheel, windshield, and chassis damage).
“Full Protection” / Insurance “Full Coverage”:
Opted for at the client’s request for an extra fee; entails:
- Reimbursement of the deposit in the event of damage or theft, including wheels, tires, windows, and chassis damages.
- Replacement vehicle in case of damage or fire (provided at the nearest company office).
- Free towing in the case of damage or fire within the Republic of Bulgaria.
- Exemption from paying administrative fees in case of an incident.
Note:
When “Full Protection” is paid for, the client is entirely exempt from liability for damage or theft, conditional upon providing the CAT report (DPS) and returning necessary documents and keys of the rented vehicle. This coverage does not apply if the client is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Should the client fail to submit the required documentation from the CAT (DPS) in the event of damage or theft, they will be responsible for the full cost of vehicle repairs, including the rental fee until the vehicle is restored. The “Full Protection” does not cover missing or stolen parts/accessories and interior damages. Charges for lost items like radio panels, GPS navigation, and keys will be according to the official price list on the company’s website. In cases of cancellation of “Full Protection” / Insurance “Full Coverage” due to vehicle damage, a one-time administrative fee of €100 plus tax will apply according to the available price list at the company office.
Fuel:
The vehicle will be provided with a full fuel tank. If the car is returned with less fuel, the customer will be charged €2.50/liter plus a tax of 20%. Exceptions apply when the car was rented with an incomplete tank, in which case the initial fuel level will be specified in your agreement.
One-Way Rental:
Upon request, arrangements can be made for picking up and returning the vehicle in a different town or location than the Avacar Rent A Car office. For detailed one-way rental examples, see HERE.
Delivery:
Upon prior request, arrangements can be made for delivering a car to another city or resort without an Avacar Rent A Car office. Delivery times may vary within 90 minutes from your specified time. Applicable additional fees apply.
Transfers:

Additional Drivers and Extra Equipment:
At the time of collecting the vehicle, both the client and any additional drivers must present current documentation: an international passport or ID card, a valid driving license (and a control card for Bulgarian nationals) that remains valid for the rental period, and a credit/debit card. Daily charges apply for additional equipment based on the price list.
Rental Outside Office Hours:
If you rent and return a vehicle after regular business hours, a fee of €20 will be applied. Working hours are Monday to Sunday from 09:00 AM to 07:00 PM. On official holidays, such as Easter and Christmas (24.12., 25.12., 26.12.), and New Year’s Eve (31.12., 01.01.), additional fees are charged: from 09:00 AM to 07:00 PM – €20; from 07:00 PM to 09:00 AM – €40.
International Car Rental:
Renting to neighboring countries of Bulgaria (Greece, North Macedonia, Serbia, Romania, and the European part of Turkey) is allowed with advance notice. An administrative fee applies depending on the vehicle class. This fee is charged for visiting the first country listed. Every additional country incurs a fee of 100% of the initial country’s tax. The deposit amount will also be doubled accordingly. The client will need to provide legible scanned copies of their driver’s license and passport three working days prior to their rental period to process necessary documentation.
Cancellation/Modification Policy:
Modifications or cancellations to confirmed reservations can be made up to 72 hours before the rental without incurring extra charges. If cancellations or changes are made within less than 72 hours of the rental start, 15% of the total rental price will be charged; however, it will not be less than the rental fee for one day. If the car booked is unavailable, the client will receive an alternative vehicle of equal or higher class, at no extra cost. Any prepayment made during the initial booking will be returned if an alternative vehicle cannot be provided.
No-Show Policy
In any instances of no-show, where the car was not preemptively canceled, amounts paid by the client are non-refundable and the booking will be annulled. A client’s no-show occurs when the client:
- Wants to cancel the reservation but fails to notify us before the rental begins;
- Could not collect the vehicle at the established date and time and did not notify us. Exceptions are made for clients indicating arrival via air travel who provided a flight number, and whose delays resulted from flight cancellations or delays;
- Fails to provide valid ID and driver’s license required to collect the vehicle;
- Lacks the means to pay the full reservation cost and/or cannot provide a deposit for the vehicle as required for the associated class.
Rental Renewal:
If you wish to extend your car rental period, please email us or contact our booking division by phone to request an extension. Renewal pricing will be calculated based on the company’s current price list, based on total rental duration. To avoid additional expenses, we recommend declaring your desire to renew ahead of time.
When “travel abroad” services are stated in the rental agreement, a one-time administrative fee of €20 will be charged for renewals of up to 7 days. If the rental is extended beyond seven days, permits for traveling abroad must be reissued, and charges for acquiring them will follow the price list.
IMPORTANT! Once the company confirms the extension, the client must settle payment for the additional rental days to finalize the renewal of the agreement. After payment is made, the necessary documentation for traveling abroad (if specified in the rental agreement) will be made available at the office where the vehicle was retrieved. Avacar Rent A Car cannot be held responsible for any implications if the client does not appear to accept the documents.
Class Guarantee
Please note that Avacar Rent A Car retains the right to substitute the rented vehicle with another of similar or superior class.
